Central to the global economic outlook is the path of the coronavirus pandemic.
The world, however, is getting better at social distancing and contact tracing to slow the virus’s spread and treating those caught by it. As a result, disruptions to economic activity from COVID-19 are lessening over time. The big reopening wins were scored early as people returned to market activity, even partially. As the base of activity rises, increments add less and less to growth rates.
